At Ratio Theory Rowing, we work with a select group of athletes who are actively chasing speed gains and trying to break through to the next level of performance. Places are intentionally limited so every athlete receives consistent, high-quality coaching attention, fast feedback, and training that stays closely aligned with what actually drives boat speed.

We focus on making you faster by improving the parts of your rowing that matter most under pressure. That means refining technical efficiency, improving how you apply force through the stroke, and shaping your training so it transfers directly into racing. With clear purpose and intent, every block of work is designed to move your speed in the right direction, reflected in faster erg and on-water performance.

The Ratio Theory Advantage

Custom Training Programs

Your goals, lifestyle and wellbeing shape your custom training. We build your aerobic base, anaerobic engine, strength and pacing - then develop your threshold so you can stay fast while others fade.

Performance Analysis and Training Targets

We'll assess your fitness and strength, set ambitious short and long term goals, and create training targets to keep you motivated, purposeful and proud of your progress every session.

1-on-1 Coaching and Mentoring

Your wellbeing is the key to your success. We'll take this journey together, keeping your physical and mental health at the forefront. Through our sessions, we'll build your training intelligence, racing maturity, and competitive instincts to help you get the most out of your season.

Technical Analysis and Guidance

Through in-person coaching or on-line video analysis, we identify your keys areas to improve. You will have guidance every session with a clear technical focus and targeted drills to help you make lasting changes.

Strength and Conditioning

Strength is so much more than lifting heavy things. Your program will focus on injury prevention, core stability, flexibility, and having free and comfortably movement in your body. We'll also develop functional and dynamic strength, speed of movement and stability to boost your erg scores and speed on water.

Seamless Club Integration

We work with your club schedule so you can enjoy the benefits of big boats, squad training and racing, while still getting the individual attention you need. You'll experience team sessions and on-water camaraderie, without compromising the personalised coaching, structure, and guidance.
